Tomorrow marks the 2nd anniversary of babycakesandvivi. This blog was originally meant to be a journal of my kids’ milestones peppered with some pictures of me in non soccer mom outfits. I chose the most fluff name I could think of so that it was miles removed from the corporate world I’d left behind at that time. I never imagined I’d enjoy blogging as much as I did and along the way I got to meet some amazing, like-minded moms or career women or former/current corporate drones wishing to maintain a certain sense of style amidst the diaper changes, conference calls, the never ending emergencies at home and office, the dreaded business trips and the what have you. But over the last few months, I’m finding myself a little overwhelmed – some of you may know I went back to work a little more than a year ago – a job along with a hormonal teenager and a toddler nearing the end of the terrible twos and a hubby takes up a lot more time than I’d thought. I no longer found the time to pursue my own interests including photography and with the blog lying dormant for weeks at a time, I thought, let’s wrap it up and move on.
I was going to write this as my final post but at the last moment I changed my mind. I realized I still enjoy doing this and even though I don’t envision myself doing the look at me outfit posts in 3 or 5 years time, I still enjoy the occasional photos and sharing some anecdotes about my kids, work or whatever strikes my fancy.
Long story short, I’ll just try to post whenever I can with no pressure and no sense of neglect… and simply enjoy the process along the way.
